The essential work of priestly formation for the life of the Church has been occurring at Mount St. Mary’s Seminary for over 200 years. With over 2,600 alumni who have served as priests of Jesus Christ across the United States of America, the Mount has become a truly national seminary. Since our humble beginnings in 1808, we work in partnership with bishops and religious superiors in preparing candidates for the priesthood. Seminarians from the Mount strive for holiness and are devoted to the Holy Eucharist and the Blessed Mother. They are intellectually well-formed in loyalty to the Gospel and the teachings of the Church, and, inspired by the example of our own alumnus, Blessed Stanley Rother, are apostolically zealous to draw many to Christ.
Our fully accredited academic programs are taught by well-respected faculty members with the perspective of forming the mind, heart and soul of future shepherds. It is a privilege to be part of this important endeavor of forming men to become priests of Jesus Christ.
– Rev. Michael M. Romano
Rev. Michael Romano was ordained to the priesthood for the Diocese of Camden in 2007. He served in parishes as parochial vicar, was assigned as a high school chaplain and sat on several diocesan committees. In addition, Fr. Romano served in several diocesan administrative positions including priest secretary to the bishop and director of vocations and seminarians. Most recently he was coordinator of admissions and formation advisor at the Pontifical North American College in Rome. He earned a bachelor’s in sacred theology from the Pontifical Gregorian University, Rome, and a license in sacred theology from the Pontifical John Paul II Institute at the Lateran University, Rome.
