Seminary in sunshine

... not a day goes by when I do not humbly thank God for the immense gift of the seminary, made possible by the sacrifice of the hardworking and generous people of God who provide for the seminarians.

Rev. Jim Bors, S'22 Archdiocese of Baltimore

Prayer to Our Lady of the Priesthood

Virgin Mary, Mother of Christ the Priest, Mother of the priests in all the world, you love priests very specially because they are the living images of your Only Son. You helped Jesus during all your earthly life, and you help him still in Heaven. We beg you: pray for priests! Pray to the Lord of Heaven that he will send workers to his vineyard. Pray that we might always have priests, who will give us the sacraments, who will explain to us the Gospel of Christ, and who will teach us to become true children of God. Virgin Mary, ask God the Father yourself for those priests of which we have such need; and since your heart has total power over him, obtain for us, O Mary, priests who will be saints! Amen!

Ways to Support

The financial support that Mount St. Mary's Seminary receives from alumni, parents, faculty, staff and friends is crucial to the growth and success of our priestly formation program. You can support the seminary through:

Learn more about these options – your support is greatly appreciated.

Annual Fund

The Annual Fund is the Seminary's most important fundraiser, supporting our greatest needs, and providing the financial support that ensures our mission - to prepare men for their priestly formation. Gifts to the Annual Fund, no matter the amount, are critical to every facet of life at the seminary.

Seminary Annual Fund – Unrestricted

Our greatest need continues to be this fund that supports the annual budgeted operating expenses of the Seminary, as well as upkeep for the house facilities and grounds.

Deacon Pilgrimage Program – Restricted

Our second greatest need is support for the annual Pilgrimage to the Holy Land, an integral part of formation which includes a required five-day canonical retreat. The cost of the program is approximately $5,000 per deacon. The Seminary provides $3,500, covering the cost of lodging, accommodations, meals and ground transportation. The deacons are required to pay $1,500 toward the cost of the pilgrimage.

Needy Seminarians Fund – Restricted

Gifts to this fund provide financial assistance to seminarians with academic and personal expenses that they would not otherwise be able to afford.

Seminary Special Projects Fund – Restricted

This fund is used to support the overall Seminary mission and special projects at the discretion of the Rector.
